OUGD404: Type Journal

I found this cheeky hand rendered looking type on the front of one of my text books. It looks silicone, perhaps being hand drawn on the computer itself or initially hand drawn and then digitised. The type appears 3D, as if you could feel the letters by running your fingers across the book cover. Although it's all upper case and quite tall and wide it manages to not be over powering, it does this by not filling in the stems and maintaining them as outlines, taking away some of it's impacting presence. The hand drawn side of this helps too, the slightly wonky lines make it friendly, approachable and fun.
