OUGD404: Type Journal

This casual script doesn’t have too much of a causal personality to it, the lack of flourish and detail certainly don’t make it a formal script however the difference in line width and the evenness of each letter give it a sense of refinement and elegance. It has an inherent calligraphic nature to it, the height of each letter is even, the angles are all uniformed and the flowing strokes. Some art of me believes this is because the type may be of stone origin and this is simply a lower case italicised version, this would certainly explain where it gets its formal and esteemed nature from.
