OUGD404: Type Journal

A decorative wood from found on the packaging for rum flavoured beer. The flat serifs give a consistent rectangular shape to the final word. The tapering of the strokes does give the font a hand painted feel to it, however it’s serifs and lack of italicisation make it look more mechanical than hand rendered. The flares and details to certain glyphs gives this font an overall Mexican feeling and a sense of history, overall the character of the font is strong, decorative, tall with a strong sense of pride.
